Nicole's Run was created in memory and honor of Nicole Oliver after her death in 2007.
In 2016, the race name was updated to include Ellie's Walk, in memory and honor of Ellie Troost, and in recognition of the tremendous support we have received from South Congregational Church's 'Team for Ellie'.
Nicole's Run/ Ellie's Walk is a tribute to all victims of survivors of domestic violence. Our goal was and continues to be to create a sense of community, and raise awareness that domestic violence is a real problem faced by as many as one in three women, while also raising funds to support the critical, potentially life-saving services available through Caring Unlimited, York County's Domestic Violence Resource Center.
Each year, Caring Unlimited provides support and safety planning services to nearly 2,500 individuals in York County, Maine. With the money raised through Nicole's Run, we help ensure the availability of confidential, free services 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
