Nicole's 5K Run/ Ellie's Walk
To benefit Caring Unlimited, York County's Domestic Violence Resource Center
Nicole's Story
Nicole's Run/ Walk was created in honor of Nicole Oliver by her
friends and family.  On July 9th, 2007, Nicole, age 24, was shot to
death by her husband, who then took his own life, leaving behind
their two young boys (at the time) ages 6 and 2.

Nicole had a passion and love for life.  She had a contagious smile
that would warm your soul, and vibrant personality.  She loved her
sons more than anything in the world.

One of Nicole's favorite things to do was to go for walks, often along
Kennebunk's beautiful beaches.

After seven years married to an abusive husband, Nicole found the
strength and courage to leave, and create a new life for herself and
her sons.  She was attending college at YCCC in pursuit of her
dream of becoming a registered nurse.  Lured by the promise of
money for a new apartment, she returned to her old home where
her husband took her life.
"This run is to remember and
honor all victims of domestic
violence.

The goal is to create
community awareness, and
spread a sense of hope, while
also raising money to ensure
critical, potentially life-saving
services, are always available
for anyone who needs them."
